In this era of polarizing world views and contentious debate is it possible to find a way to have a loving, positive conversation with someone who holds a viewpoint that is different than your own? The short answer is yes. This session seeks to provide a framework for constructing a conversation in such a way that allows for both parties to be heard and supported. This seminar will provide vital skills that are directly applicable to one’s classroom as we interact with students from differing points of view. These skills are not just classroom related as they apply to all our conversations. These skills will also benefit our communication with our own parents, spouses, children, friends and co-workers. This framework based upon the latest communications research from Dr. Tim Muehlhoff, professor of communication at Biola University and author of ""I Beg to Differ: Navigating Difficult Conversation with Truth and Love"" and ""The God Conversation.""
