West Hills Community College is part of the California Community Colleges, which make up the largest higher education system in the nation. The system is comprised of 72 districts, 112 colleges, and enrolls more than 2.9 million students. 

As part of the California Community College system, West Hills works cooperatively with the University of California (UC), the California State University (CSU), and the Association of Independent California Colleges and Universities (AICCU) to ensure that their students have access to the necessary coursework and are provided with the services needed to successfully transition to baccalaureate-granting institutions.
