VCHS Opportunities to Serve: Santa Clara County Parks Events

  • California Coastal Cleanup Day
    • Saturday, September 20th, 9am-12pm
    • Various County Park locations
    • Join millions of Americans on Coastal Cleanup Day to remove litter in and around our local waterways.
  • Day on the Bay
    • Saturday, October 4th, multiple shifts available
    • Alviso Marina County Park
    • Volunteers needed to assist with event setup; event activity support; parking management; on-site activity registration; and/or event tear down.
  • Martial Cottle Fall Festival
    • Saturday, October 11th, multiple shifts available
    • Martial Cottle Park
    • Assist with a variety of activity stations which include cattle corral, kids crafts, truck/tractor area, and parking lot monitors
  • Tree Planting with SAFE Worldwide
    • Saturday, November 15th, 9am-12pm
    • Los Gatos Creek County Park
    • This planting is coordinated in partnership with Saving Animals Facing Extinction (S.A.F.E.), an organization committed to protecting endangered species and the environment through education, community programs, and partnerships with conservation organizations across the planet. Join us in a family-friendly community tree planting at Los Gatos Creek!
  • Fantasy of Lights - Walk Thru
    • Saturday, December 6th and Sunday, December 7th, multiple shifts available
    • Vasona Lake County Park
    • Volunteers will be spread out in various zones throughout the event and are needed to help guide visitors at the entrance and exit, keep visitors safe and on the paths, provide information, take photos, assist with visitor loading and unloading at shuttle stops, and more.
    • Volunteer hours can be applied to school or community organization service hours. Each volunteer will receive a complimentary pass to the Drive-Thru event to be used Sunday-Thursday throughout the month of December. Dinner and refreshments are also provided!
    • Over 18? Consider signing up for a Zone Lead shift! We will hold an online training via zoom the Thursday before the event to prepare you for this role.
