Opportunity To Serve: Santa Clara County Parks
Santa Clara County Parks has some fun events coming up in the next few months and we are reaching out to all our neighbors and community partners to help us make them happen. If you or your organization are looking for community service opportunities for this fall, we would like to invite you to join us in providing some fun, family-friendly events to the communities in Santa Clara County and beyond.

If you are interested in registering your group, instead of having each individual register independently, please get back to us and we can assist you in the registration process and provide you the necessary documents.
Upcoming Events:
- Martial Cottle Park Fall Festival
- Friday, October 6 from 9:00am – 12:00pm (pre-event set up)
- Be part of the team that helps set the foundation for a spectacular event! Park staff need help setting up for the biggest annual event at Martial Cottle!
- Saturday, October 7 from 7:00am – 3:00pm (full day or partial day shifts)
- Volunteers will assist with a variety of activity stations which include cattle corral, kids crafts, truck/tractor area, and parking lot monitors. Activity stations will be assigned to volunteers the day of the event. Please let us know if you have a preference.
- Day on the Bay – A Multicultural Festival
- Friday, October 13 from 9:00am – 1:00pm (pre-event set up)
- Help set up for “Alviso’s most-attended event” by setting up canopies, stages, tables, and various booths!
- Saturday, October 14 from 7:00am – 4:00pm (multiple shifts)
- Opening, mid-day, and takedown shifts available for the main event! Snacks and Lunch provided at this fun filled festival that features health resources, kids activities, free kayak rides, cultural celebration displays, and much more.
- Fantasy of Lights Walk-Thru Nights
- Saturday, December 2 and 3 from 3:00pm – 9:00pm (multiple shifts)
- Join Santa Clara County Parks staff in making the holiday season one to remember for guests of all ages. Fantasy of Lights is an “all hands on deck” event at Vasona Lake County Park that will attract thousands of families to see the beautiful light displays. Volunteers are needed to help load and unload strollers from buses, help coordinate the flow of visitors throughout the event, provide event info. and much more. Snacks and dinner provided.
