Opportunities to serve with Calvary Church Shining Stars Ministry and Respite. Oct. 15
Here are the details below:
Greetings to returning and new volunteers (Star Tenders),
Excited to invite you to join us on October 15th for our Shining Stars Fall Festival Respite Event. The Event is from 2:30 to 5:30 but we ask that you arrive at 1:45. (See below) Not only do we invite you but we ask you to be part of this. We cannot do these events without our amazing volunteers AND we love sharing our Stars/Sibs with you!
Our Fall Festival Event will have a Halloween theme and we look forward to painting pumpkins, doing other fun crafts plus games and other surprises. Pizza will be served for all at 5:00.
Just a reminder: We are re-starting our respites, albeit a little slower than we would like. We need to build up our volunteer base again and adhere to new child protection laws. Someday we hope to have our usual 4-hour, every other month respites where families can leave their Stars/Sibs with us and truly have a time of respite, but for this event, the December 10th Holiday Respite Event and into 2023 A PARENT/CAREGIVER NEEDS TO ACCOMPANY THE STARS/SIBS for the entire event.
Our volunteers are a very important part of our events. We rely on you to work the craft and activity stations as well as hosting families through the event to help, engage and encourage them. For extra community service hours we can always use help with setup and teardown. If you are interested in extra hours please email us.

We ask that you arrive at 1:45 for instructions, etc. so we are ready for the kids at 2:30 - especially since so many of the families arrive early. Much of the event will be going on outside, it could be warm so we suggest you wear comfortable clothes, maybe a hat and use sunscreen, just like we are recommending to the families.
Registration: Please let us know you are coming by completing the RSVP form AND if you did not complete our volunteer registration form for the December 2021 or June Events, please complete the registration form also.
