Opportunity to Serve: Calvary Church Los Gatos- Valentine's Respite January 25
What: It will include special Valentine's games, valentine’s crafts, surprises plus our usual gym and outdoor activities (weather permitting). In short, fun is on the agenda...We are planning on setting up craft stations in a decorated Parkside (meeting room), and then having fun games in the gym. We will need LOTS of extra volunteers.

Opportunity to Serve- Hope In The Darkness Event- January 26 (Church Hours)
Event: Hope in the Darkness ~ Protecting Our Children from Human Trafficking- Volunteers will help support the program!
Date: Sunday, January 26th - 2-4 pm (Volunteers arrive at 1:30)
Place: Saratoga Federated Church 20390 Park Place, Saratoga, 95070
Format: Live play called Lily’s Wings (written with a focus on the risk to youth from trained traffickers illustrating the ease of entrapping innocent victims. This play is carefully and thoughtfully written so the content impacts youth who may be oblivious to their vulnerability. It limits the details to protect against shock and trauma, but the message is clear about potential entrapment by cunning traffickers. Note: Appropriate for ages 13 and older, and all parents or guardians
Post the play, a panel of experts hosted by Betty Ann Boeing-Haganau, founder of Bay Area Anti-Trafficking Coalition, will field audience questions for an FBI agent, District Attorney, survivor, and Producer of Lily's Wings.

Opportunity to Serve: Night to Shine Silicon Valley- Feb. 7 (Tim Tebow Foundation Event) Church Hours or Regular Hours
What: A glamorous prom for teens and adults with disabilities. Buddies 16 and older are needed to be a friend for the evening for each Honored Guest. Younger volunteers can help on the red carpet, with flowers, and in several other ways

Opportunity To Serve- Girls On The Run (Ongoing) Beginning in March
At Girls on the Run we inspire girls to recognize their inner strength and celebrate what makes them one of a kind. Trained coaches lead small teams through our research-based curricula which includes dynamic discussions, activities and running games. Over the course of the ten-week program, girls in 3rd-8th grade develop essential skills to help them navigate their worlds and establish a lifetime appreciation for health and fitness.
Option #1- Junior Coach- The Junior Coach is a volunteer position for high school students, 16-18 years old, to assist the Head and Assistant Coaches at a Girls on the Run program site. The position entails approximately 1.5-3 hours per week for a 10-week commitment (March through mid-May).
2020 Junior Coach Applications will be available on January 6, 2020. Please contact Laura with any questions.
Option #2 - 5K Race Volunteer
Saturday, May 16, Vasona Park, Los Gatos- Times vary (approx. 6-10 am, depending on volunteer role)
Hand out water on the course, distribute inspirational bracelets at mile markers, serve as a course monitor, participate on the Green Team, etc
