Opportunity To Serve: Wesley United Methodist Church Aki Matsuri Fall Festival (Local Church Hours)

We invite you and members of your school club to join us for our 2024 Aki Matsuri Fall Festival
October 5 at Wesley United Methodist Church, located in the heart of
San Jose’s Japantown. (566 N. 5th St, San Jose
Aki Matsuri is a long-standing tradition meant to foster and build community, not only within our San Jose neighborhood but across the Bay Area. It’s an opportunity for us to make new friends, share our cultural roots, and provide a memorable time for all.
At Aki Matsuri, find a selection of Japanese American cuisine such as teriyaki BBQ chicken, spam musubi, chicken salad, and Aki dogs. Throughout the day, there are various entertainment acts, including San Jose Taiko performers and talented, local youth and adults performing traditional and contemporary music and dance. Shop in the Marketplace for beautiful handmade Asian crafts, unique gifts, and an array of botanicals. The Kids Zone features crafts and carnival games for children and the young-at-heart.
We encourage you to volunteer and experience Aki Matsuri, and to see this as a unique opportunity to contribute to San Jose Japantown’s cultural preservation and become a member of its cherished community. We hope you join us in celebrating Japanese culture and welcoming the coming of Fall!
