Here is a great opportunity to volunteer for Operation Christmas Child. Here are the details.
Foxworthy Baptist Church will also once again serve as a Central
Drop Off Center during Christmas Child National Collection Week Nov.16-23. We are
encouraged to know that our church will be the beginning of a long shoebox
journey culminating in a child hearing and experiencing the Good News of Jesus
Christ. Volunteers are still needed. Please sign up here. If you are available for only a partial shift,
please note availability in the comments field.
The
following descriptions may help you match an assignment with your specific
skills.
· Greeters: Smile,
welcoming attitude, able to direct donors to next steps in the process
· Packers:
Work with a partner to efficiently pack shoebox gifts into cartons
according to established directions with accurate counts
· Truck:
Requires ability to lift and stack packed cartons up to 5 stacks
high inside trailer-truck. Accuracy in recording carton counts is also
important.
· Admin. Asst: Assistant:
Assists site director daily record keeping and other various duties
Both Operation Christmas Child and
Foxworthy Baptist Church are committed to ensuring that both
donors and volunteers enjoy as safe an experience as possible. Changes
include:
· Collection
and processing will take place outside
· Collection
hours have been reduced
· We will
offer a contactless, drive-through option for donors, including the use of a
scannable QR code to collect donor information
· Limited
number of volunteer slots and shifts
· Volunteers
assigned a specific task for their shift so that they work within one small
team. We will seek to avoid changes in assignments during a shift.
· All
volunteers will be required to wear masks and gloves for the duration of their
shift
· Volunteers
are requested to sign up for specific shifts as we are not able to accommodate
drop in volunteers this year
