Statistics (H)

Statistics is designed for students who are seeking a math course that emphasizes application to business, economics, and social and behavioral sciences. It will help prepare students for AP Statistics, or university-level statistics or analytics.

Statistics focuses on the use of real-world data and the importance of relevance, context, and the interpretation of results. Topics include the history of statistics, the data collection process, graphical methods for displaying data, numerical methods for describing data, statistical inference, and linear regression and correlation. In addition, probability distributions, sampling variability, sampling distributions, and confidence intervals are studied. The course covers both analytical and inferential statistics. This course is designed for students who desire to take an advanced math course but who do not wish to take an AP course.
