Personal Finance & Stewardship

This course equips students with the skills and knowledge to approach personal finance through a biblical lens. Students will learn how to avoid debt, budget intentionally, invest wisely, and build and steward wealth in a way that honors God. Instruction includes teacher lectures, engaging videos, class discussions, team projects, homework assignments, and tests, all designed to bring the principles of financial stewardship to life. By applying these lessons to everyday decisions, students will be empowered to secure a strong financial future and develop positive habits. This course is designed to transform students’ understanding of money management, setting them on a lifelong path to financial health and faithful stewardship.

In this course, emphasis is placed on five major units: 1) introduction to personal finance; 2) savings; 3) budgeting; 4) credit and debt; and 5) investing for retirement.

Additional Course Details

  • Students will be required to open their own checking and savings account.
  • Students will create a budget & track their own expenses using spreadsheets and budgeting mobile app.
  • This course is a DECA approved course.
