Mathematics of Financial Analysis
Mathematics of Financial Analysis is designed for students who are seeking an applied math course that emphasizes application to business and economics. This course is ideal for students who have completed Algebra II, and will be majoring in Business.
Mathematics of Financial Analysis is an applied math course that introduces students to the mathematics of business and personal finance. The course relies on a solid understanding of algebraic operations and linear and exponential models. Students will learn college preparatory mathematics topics from Advanced Algebra, Statistics, Probability, Geometry, Precalculus, and Calculus Honors, practically integrated into Corporate Finance and Personal Finance, including financial statements, Banking, Investing, Credit, Employment and Income Taxes, and Household Budgeting. This course is applications-oriented and teaches the real-world use of technology for financial analysis.
The course provides a motivating, young-adult centered financial context for understanding and applying the mathematics they are guaranteed to use in the future.
Special Note: A TI-84 calculator is required.
