Advanced Engineering Systems & Design (H)
Advanced Engineering Systems & Design (Honors) is a college-preparatory course that provides students with a multidisciplinary introduction to engineering through analytical investigations, laboratory experiences, and hands-on design challenges. Students apply engineering principles while exploring mechanics, fluid power systems, statics, materials science, electronics, embedded systems, aerospace engineering, and automated control systems. Using computer-aided design (CAD), digital fabrication, programming, microcontrollers, sensors, and prototyping equipment, students design, build, test, and refine engineering solutions to authentic problems. Throughout the course, students develop quantitative problem-solving, technical documentation, and communication skills while completing multiple engineering design projects each semester. This course prepares students for advanced STEM coursework, collegiate engineering programs, and engineering-related careers.
