Trip Information: La Casa de mi Padre - here
La Casa de mi Padre is a Christian
children's group home serving children ages 6-17 years, who have been taken out
of their families due to abuse, neglect, or abandonment through the court
system. La Casa is located on a secluded property named, La Finca Milagro (The
Miracle Farm), which was formerly a plantation. The La Casa staff have
diligently worked for over 20 years to provide a holistic approach to meeting
the children's physical, academic, emotional, and spiritual needs.
This is the second year in our
partnership with La Casa de mi Padre and VCHS students will have the
opportunity to enter this space with a servant-learner's heart. We are joining a long standing relationship between the ministry and Dr. McGriff, Valley Christian's Director of Biblical Unity. Valley Christian is praying and support Education efforts in the ministry and look forward to seeing this opportunity grow and develop. They will work
on farm projects, play outdoor games, hike into remote areas to serve the local
residents, lead arts, crafts, music, and family games for the children.
Trip focus includes:
- Work on the farm
- Focus on Education and teacher empowerment
- Opportunity to love and care for children in the community. Using our gifts to teach and empower
- Outreach in local community
- Participation
in various church activities
