Recommendations for summer programs are much more labor intensive than college letters. Please request your Teacher recommendations no later than Friday, January 10th 2026
Freshmen: If you are applying to summer programs, you can only apply to two programs and use a Counselor as your recommender. The only exception to the teacher recommendation requirement is that one teacher may be asked to provide a recommendation if a student is applying to Cosmos; the second recommended letter for Cosmos should be from the counselor.
Sophomores: If you are applying to summer programs, you may apply to two programs that require a teacher recommendation. Only one teacher can be asked, and if a second recommendation is needed, you must use a counselor.
Juniors: If you are applying to summer programs, you may apply to three programs that require a teacher recommendation. Two teachers may be asked, but one of them must become one of your College application recommenders.
Steps to ask your teacher for a recommendation
Come in at lunch or Warrior Time to verify with a counselor that your program specifically needs a teacher recommendation. Your counselor will mark this in our faculty Summer Rec document tracking document.
If approved, ask your teacher in person.
Once your teacher agrees, provide them with all the needed information.
Your teacher will add you to the faculty Summer Rec document, tracking all requests.
