Hello Kidservatory!
Our first week of meeting was a great success! The team wanted to reach out with information on the vocal auditions this Tuesday.Each student is to prepare a song which they will sing acapella (without music). The song you sing is your choice! It can be Disney, pop, worship, etc. The cut you choose must be 30 seconds or longer.If a student feels nervous, you are more than welcome to bring a buddy on stage with you! The buddy can either stand with you and let you sing (and they sing separately later) or can sing with you as a duet. If you choose a duet, there must be a portion where each individual sings a solo and then together.We can’t wait to hear you perform!- The Kidservatory Team

Please crack open your script over the break and start learning your lines and songs at home next week. Your “off-book” deadline* - April 14 - will be here before you know it! We have made your music available on our Learn@VCS page as well - click “Practice Tracks” to see a version with guide vocals, and a version with music alone.

Measurement Email sent on 2/24/2026:
Welcome back to Wonka’s chocolate factory!
Rehearsals are in full swing this week, and we are excited to get our show on its feet. Ask your student to show you what they’ve worked on!
Even though performances are two months away, we are already working on costumes. We want your student to look their best and are asking that you please complete the Costume Measurement Form this weekend. It is posted under the “Costumes” tab on our show page HERE. We are streamlining and simplifying the costumes for this production, so it really will only take you about five minutes to complete.
Please have this done by this Tuesday, March 3rd.

Undergarment Email sent on 3/24/2026
Hello to all! Our show is about halfway learned - be sure you are practicing all of your songs and dances at home as much as possible!
All students must provide their own undergarments, socks, and shoes for the performances. These must be brought to school/rehearsal on Thursday, April 16, 2026.

Spring Break Email sent on 4/2/26
Greetings! As we head towards Spring Break, we want to remind you of a couple things.
Undergarments, socks, and shoes should come to school with your student on Thursday, April 16th. If you have not purchased these items already, perhaps next week is a good time to do so. Refer to the COSTUMES tab on our show page for reference.
Practice, practice, practice! Even if you are traveling next week, make it a priority to set aside 20-30 minutes per day to review your songs, dances, and lines. When we return to school April 13th, we will be just 3 weeks away from show time.
We hope you will enjoy a blessed and restful break next week.

Undergarment Email sent on 4/14/2026:
It was so good to see everyone today! We had a good time in rehearsal getting back into the swing of things. We can tell that many of you practiced over the break - thank you!
Undergarments, socks, and shoes should now be purchased/procured, and must come to school with your student on Thursday, April 16.
- Please be sure their shoes are labeled on the inside.
Tickets go on sale this Friday, April 17th! Visit boxoffice.vcs.net to secure yours.
We are looking forward to another great rehearsal on Thursday. Thank you for all the hard work you’ve put in so far - we appreciate you!

Undergarment reminder email sent on 4/15/2026
DON’T FORGET!
Tomorrow we have our costume fittings! Please wear your camisole/shorts/undershirt to school tomorrow, underneath your clothing. And is your “show bag” packed and ready to go? Be sure you’ve put it next to your backpack, or in it, so you don’t forget it tomorrow. It should include:
Show socks
Show shoes, both labeled inside (blue tape or masking tape inside the heel works well)
Just two weeks until showtime! Do you have your tickets yet? Don’t delay - visit boxoffice.vcs.net to make sure you get seats!

Undergarment Requirement Email sent on 4/21/2026
Hello Kidservatory Families,
Thank you to those who came to rehearsal last week prepared with black jazz shoes and the appropriate undergarments!
We appreciate your help!
We noticed that some students either did not have black jazz shoes or were wearing black and white saddle shoes from our fall production of Charlie Brown. For this production, all students are required to wear black jazz shoes.
Please make sure your student has the correct shoes and required undergarments by May 7. For your convenience, we’ve attached the undergarments document to this email.
Having the correct items is essential for rehearsals and performances, so we appreciate your attention to this!

Performance Day Reminders - Sent on 5/1/2026
After all of our hard work, we have finally arrived at SHOW WEEK! Please read this email in its entirety very carefully - it is chock full of important information that pertains to schedules and requirements for next week.
REMINDER THAT TUESDAY, MAY 5th, THERE IS REHEARSAL SCHEDULED AS USUAL
Hair & Makeup information will be posted on the Learn@vcs page before Monday!
We have a special schedule for next week’s rehearsals and performances.
Wednesday, May 6th: Students will be dismissed from school at 2:20pm and will be bussed from Leigh to Skyway for our T-Shirt & Tech rehearsal. We will provide pizza as a hearty snack once they arrive at Skyway. If your student has any dietary restrictions, please be sure to pack extra food for them. Pick up is 6pm on the Skyway Campus in the quad outside the Theatre building; they must check out with their high school counselor before being released to you.
Thursday, May 7th: BRING YOUR UNDERGARMENTS, SHOES, & SOCKS TO SCHOOL; GO TO SCHOOL WITH YOUR HAIRSTYLE DONE. Students will be dismissed from school at 2:20pm and will be bussed from Leigh to Skyway for our Dress rehearsal. We will have a pizza break. Pick up is 6:00pm on the Skyway Campus in the quad outside the Theatre building; they must check out with their high school counselor before being released to you. Students will leave their show shoes & socks at Skyway.
Friday, May 8th & Saturday, May 9th: Call time at the Skyway Campus is 4:30pm each day, to get ready for our performances! Please do not be late. Students must arrive with their hair and makeup already done. Students will be released after performances, approximately 7:30pm, in the quad outside the Theatre building; they must check out with their high school counselor before being released to you.
As a reminder, please be sure you are sending all communications to vcestheatre@vcs.net rather than to an individual. This is the only way we can ensure that everyone is on the same page.
