VOCAL AUDITION DETAILS- Please sing a 32-bar cut from any Disney musical or movie. Make sure it shows your range but also fits your voice. You are also welcome to sing a song from DARE TO DREAM itself. Pick a song that makes you sound your best!
- Your song must be memorized
- You must provide your own backtrack/accompaniment. Have it ready to go on your phone/iPad and we will help you connect it to our sound system. Bring an adapter of you have one.
- Resources for finding audition cuts:
- Performer Stuff: Download and Print Sheet Music, Monologues, 16 and 32-Bar Audition Cuts, and More. If you put your title in the search and click “32 bar cut” you’ll probably find your song ready to go along with the backtrack for a small fee.
- Music Notes. Find sheet music here and you can find a backtrack/accompaniment on Youtube.
- No monologue is required.
DANCE AUDITION DETAILS
- Welcome to dance auditions for Dare to Dream! I hope you are excited to have fun, try some new things, and maybe even get a little bit out of your comfort zone! As we will only get a couple short weeks to work together, I want our time to be centered around positivity and hard work! I hope you are as excited as I am to work together and create some Disney Dancing Magic together! To best prepare for your audition, follow the instructions below.
- Before your audition:
- Linked here is the short dance you will be performing at your audition. Please memorize the dance at home before your audition. Audition time is limited, so we will move quickly through the choreography day-of.
- Watch a couple of videos of Disneyland or Disney World parades and pay close attention to the dancers! I want to focus the choreography for the entire show around capturing the joyful and jubilant energy they have while performing! Please take from it and get inspired by it!
- Day of:
- Warm-Up: Do a little stretching before coming in for your dance audition.
- Remember: We are NOT looking for perfection, we are looking for performance and personality! We have weeks of rehearsal to get ourselves performance-ready. We are looking to see what kind of positive, hard-working attitude you bring to your audition, as well as your ability to smile, embrace the characters, and have fun!
Still have questions? Email Ms. McCann -smccann@vcs.net - who will be happy to give you tips and answer any other questions you might have. We can't wait to see you audition!
