HOW TO PREPARE
Please read the following guidelines very carefully BEFORE asking questions!
- What to prepare
- All auditioners must prepare a 90-second vocal audition cut from the song lists provided in the Audition Materials tab.
- Be sure the song you choose is within your vocal range.
- You must provide your own backtrack/karaoke for your audition piece.
- See the Audition Materials tab above for specific information on where to find your audition song.
- How else can you prepare?
- Take a look at the show info: https://www.mtishows.com/my-fair-lady-0
- Familiarize yourself with the roles available.
- If you've already submitted your audition form, and would like to update which roles you would like to be considered for, please email Mrs. Kaelin directly. She will update your preferences manually.
- How to audition
- Come prepared!
- Begin with a slate.
- The proper slate for a song is to share your name, then the title and show in which it appears. Since we have provided your audition piece for you, it might sound like this: "My name is Darren Criss, and I will be singing 'Oh What A Beautiful Mornin' from Oklahoma."
- The dance audition will be learned and performed in groups.
- What to wear
- For your vocal audition, dress to impress. See above for dance attire.
- How to schedule your audition
- Review the preliminary REHEARSAL SCHEDULE on the tab above.
- Click here to fill out the audition form.
- The audition form will close at 3pm on Monday, December 1, 2025.
- Every student who has completed the audition form will receive an assigned audition time slot.
Things to consider as you prepare to audition:
- We encourage you to continue any outside vocal coaching. In fact, we would love to partner with your vocal coaches so that we are all on the same page!
- Excessive conflicts may affect our casting decisions. If you have questions about this, email Mrs. Kaelin directly.
Still have questions? Email Mrs. Kaelin - mkaelin@vcs.net - who will be happy to give you tips and answer any other questions you might have. We want this to be a positive, successful experience for all of you. 😌
