HOW TO PREPARE
Please read the following guidelines very carefully BEFORE asking questions!
- What to prepare
- All auditioners must prepare one of the provided medleys. They are broken up by voice type:
- Medley #1: GIRLS
- Medley #2: GUYS
- If you are unsure which medley you should prepare, please email Mrs. Kaelin with any questions.
- See the Audition Materials tab above for all of the information.
- How else can you prepare?
- Take a look at the show info: https://www.concordtheatricals.com/p/59411/rock-of-ages-teen-edition
- Familiarize yourself with the roles available.
- If you've already submitted your audition form, and would like to update which roles you would like to be considered for, please email Mrs. Kaelin directly. She will update your preferences manually.
- How to audition
- Come prepared! We have provided everything for your vocal audition, even the backtracks!
- Begin with a slate.
- The proper slate for a song is to share your name, then the title and show in which it appears. Since we have provided your audition piece for you, it might sound like this: "My name is Joe Locke, and I will be singing Medley #2."
- The dance audition will be learned and performed in groups.
- What to wear
- If you care about this audition, your clothing should reflect as much. For your vocal audition, dress to impress. See above for dance attire.
- How to schedule your audition
- Review the preliminary REHEARSAL SCHEDULE on the tab above.
- Click here to fill out the audition form.
- The audition form will close on Wednesday, November 20, 2024.
- Every student who has completed the audition form will receive an assigned audition time slot.
Things to consider as you prepare to audition:
- We encourage you to continue any outside vocal coaching. In fact, we would love to partner with your vocal coaches so that we are all on the same page!
- Excessive conflicts may affect our casting decisions. If you have questions about this, email Mrs. Kaelin directly.
Still have questions? Email Mrs. Kaelin - mkaelin@vcs.net - who will be happy to give you tips and answer any other questions you might have. We want this to be a positive, successful experience for all of you. 😌
