Technology has changed not only how we get our information but how students learn, making many of the study skills of the past outdated or impractical. This course will focus on study skills for learning in an environment where much of the material is digital. Students will learn how to use digital devices efficiently as tools for research, multimedia creation, writing, reading, and annotating, all while managing the distractions that result from social media and a constant internet connection. In addition, students will learn how to apply the latest brain-based research to help them work smarter rather than harder, getting the most out of their study time. Attendees will leave with both tips and tools for overcoming common academic challenges, such as procrastination, time management, and anxiety and stress.
